Change in Password Policy
Password security is a key component of a strong data security policy. Beginning in January, users who log into the Business Platform to review transaction activity will be required to comply with the following new password requirements:
Passwords will need to be a minimum of 7 characters, contain at least one alpha and one numeric character, and cannot be the same as the previous 4 passwords.
Users will be required to change their password every 3 months.
Users will be automatically logged out of the system after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Users will be locked out after 6 failed attempts to login. Note: the account will automatically unlock after 30 minutes, or the user can contact Customer Care for help.
ACTION MAY BE NEEDED: Change of IP Address
Merchant e-Solutions will provision a new block of IP addresses across our datacenter footprint that will enable us to build scale and have better management and portability for future expansion. This will impact merchants that have programmed their own shopping cart or POS system directly to our processing network, or who are using a 3rd party certified shopping cart solution or POS using our API code.
If you have a firewall and/or have hard-coded to our systems, you are required to update your devices and/or applications to point to our new IP address in order to avoid loss of connectivity to the Merchant e-Solutions platform. Please refer to IP address mapping details below. Failure to make this update by January 21, 2016 may result in the inability to process transactions.
If you connect to us by solely using one of the following, you should not be impacted; however, you are still encouraged to check with your system developer to verify: stand-alone payment terminal, Virtual Terminal retail PC app, Virtual Terminal mobile app, Netsuite, or Authorize.net via the TSYS gateway. Virtual Terminal Users: Click on this link https://188.8.131.52 If you get a certificate error, you do not need to take any action.
If you have integrated payments into your systems via an API by hard-coding an IP address to our processing platform, you must update to an appropriate new IP address as outlined below. Test your application connectivity to ensure that everything is working as expected.
Virtual Terminal: https://www.mesvt.com » CURRENT: 184.108.40.206, 220.127.116.11, or 18.104.22.168 » NEW: 22.214.171.124 or 126.96.36.199
If you have any questions, please check with the software developer that integrated payments into your POS system, shopping cart or website. You may also call our Customer Care team anytime at (888) 288-2692 or email us at email@example.com
